The Haifo-Pallisican Imperial Trade Union, otherwise unofficially known as The Bassarids or The Bassarid Empire is an economic, political, and military union between Passio-Corum and the Maritime Markets of the Strait of Haifa which occupies a vast portion of Micras' eastern hemisphere. The union exists on the basis of both nations' shared commitment to the value of the Port of Vines and the USSO Common Market as embodiments of the Post Standardized Currency, as well as from a shared recognition of the mutually beneficial relationship which exists between the Pallisican Religion and the Stripping Path. The Imperial Trade Union was established via a decree issued by Kan Zen, who in 36.81 PSSC simultaneously fulfilled the role of Crown of Passio-Corum and of de-facto ruler of the Maritime Markets. With that said, the history of the Trade Union is rooted in the legacy of Queen Mina I, the last queen of the Kingdom of Passas.

The ascension of Zen to the crown marks the conversion of the Pallisican monarch to the Haifan Stripping Path.
35.69 PSSC (6533 ASC)	Maritime Markets Join the USSO	The Maritime Markets of the Strait of Haifa join the USSO as an Associate Member, allowing for the establishment of direct, transparent trade relations between the Markets and Passio-Corum and its allies.
36.64 PSSC (6651 ASC)	War of Lost Brothers Commences	The War of Lost Brothers drives the radical expansion of trade between active members of the USSO Common Market, resulting in a considerable tightening of relations between Passio-Corum and the Maritime Markets, and Passio-Corum and Jingdao.
36.77 PSSC (6730 ASC)	Port of Vines is Established	The Port of Vines is established following the ascension of Crown Zen to the position of Priestess of Agripinilla, in an effort to streamline trade, and political and military coordination between the Maritime Markets and Passio-Corum during the War of Lost Brothers. The establishment of the Port of Vines inspires the outbreak of the Harpy War.

Geography of the Trade Union

The Haifo-Pallisican Imperial Trade Union is the political entity which facilitates the existence of the trade networks between the states of Passio-Corum and the Maritime Markets of the Strait of Haifa which arise as a result of investment in the Port of Vines. To that extent the Trade Union maintains and protects a system of complex trade routes which extend continuously from North to South for at least 18,000 km, and from East to West for over 23,000 km. As such, the Haifo-Pallisican Imperial Trade Union - though its actual land claims are relatively limited - is perhaps amongst the most influential nations in the world.

Coat of Arms	Coat of Arms of Haifo-Pallisica	Adopted in the 36.80's PSSC, the Coat of Arms of of the Haifo-Pallisican Imperial Trade Union combines elements inspired by the crests of the Greater Pallisican Trade Association, the Maritime Markets of the Strait of Haifa, and the Stripping Path. The Flag of the Trade Union: The flag of the Trade Union is displayed prominently across the shield which is the centerpiece of the nation's coat of arms. The White-Faced Weasel: The most ancient symbol of the Passasian nation, the white-faced weasel runs across the nation's flag, in the direction opposite that of the weasel featured on the crest of Passio-Corum. This difference represents the shift in national identity which occurred upon the ascension of Kan Zen to the position of Crown of Passio-Corum. Labyrinth Knot: The symbol of the force of Chaos in the Haifan religion, the Labyrinth Knot occupies a position of prominence above the White-Faced Weasel, such that it symbolizes the preeminence of chaos before all things. The Grand Skep: Two communities of bees swarm towards the Grand Skep, symbolizing the joining of houses of Passio-Corum and the Maritime Markets. The Rising Sun: Atos rises constantly above the ever-expanding Bassarid Empire. The Maenad Mermaids: The mermaids - the guardians of the Eastern Oceans who drink mystic wine from sacred sea-shells - are an ancient Keltian symbol of profound devotion to Dionysus, the primary god of the Haifan people. The Uso-Oname: The purple laurel at the bottom of the Coat of Arms represents the Uso-Oname, the national tree of Passio-Corum. The gray ribbon at the bottom of the laurel represents the trunk of the Uso-Oname. The pale pink bulbs represent the sweet-smelling flowers of the Uso, in the final stage before entering full bloom.
