Groenfort Trailers is a manufacturer of heavy trailers for transport and agricultural purposes in the category 10 to 60 metric tonnes. The company was founded in 1686 by Erik Groenfort, a former Jingdaoese citizen who arrived in Barbary as part of the Cibolan Volunteer Corps. Before joining the volunteers, he worked as a truck driver for OldSport and tried to set up a similar company in Barbary. He found that the cost of importing trailers from Jingdao was too high, and the quality of trailers available for sale on Cibola to low. With the help from friends who were employed as welders at Baicha Heavy Vehicle Industries, Mr. Groenfort was able to design and build his own semi-trailer, and soon received offers on it. Figuring that he might make more money selling trailers than driving them, he set up the company in the Sheng month of 1686. Because of the high demand for good quality trailers, the company rapidly expanded. With a loan from the Road Transport Cooperative of Barbary, Mr. Groenfort was able to set up a modern factory and employ 200 people.

The company offers curtain-siders, reefers, box-trailers and flatbeds. They are all available as semi-trailers with a length of 11 or 14 meters or as mid-axle or drawbar trailers with a length of 5 to 10 meters (excluding drawbar). On the semi-trailers various axle configurations are offered, with steer and lift axles optional. Trailers can be offered with drum brakes or with disc brakes. Depending on the wishes of the customer, trailers can be delivered within days or within two weeks. The standard trailer configuration in Barbary is a white curtain-sider with a length of 14m and 3 non-steerable axles of which the front is a lift axle, with drum brakes on all axles. This configuration is kept in storage and can be sent out the same day it is ordered. It takes one day longer if the customer wishes to have a custom printed canvas.
