The Wechua Nation has a powerful monarchy, constrained by the Wechua Constitution of 1663, with a parliamentary government, mainly as a result of the through political settlement and ensuing governmental reforms after the Wechua Spring. The legislature is the Council of the Wechua Nation, also known as the Council of the Realm. It meets in the Legislative Palace in the Wechua capital, Parap. It is a unicameral chamber composed of 301 Royal Councillors, elected from electoral districts called wamani. All bills passed by the Council must receive the assent of the Sapa Wechua before becoming law.

Seal of the Government of the Wechua Nation

The Government of the Wechua Nation exercises executive power in the Wechua Nation. It serves as the central government of the Keltian country and is composed of the King of the Wechua Nation, knowns as the Sapa Wechua; the Prime Minister, known as the Inkap Rantin as the head of government, and several Ministers, Secretaries, and Regional Ministers.

The Government belongs to the Sapa Wechua, but it is administered and overseen by the prime minister, who selects all the other members of the Cabinet. The prime minister, several senior Ministers, and senior Secretaries all make up the supreme decision-making committee, also known as the Cabinet. Senior government ministers are all Royal Councillors, sitting in the Council of the Wechua Nation and are accountable to it. Secretaries of Cabinet are allowed to be from outside the Council, however. The government depends on the consent of the Sapa Wechua and the confidence of the legislature to remain in office. General elections are held every four to five years to elect a new Council of the Wechua Nation unless there is a successful vote of no confidence in the government, in which case an election would be held sooner.

It is the current convention for the Sapa Wechua, currently Manco Capac, to select as prime minister the person that commands confidence from the Council, usually the leader of the largest party or the largest political coalition in the Council. The Wechua Constitution of 1663 created the modern government of the Wechua Nation,

The current Inkap Rantin is Vicaquirao Alvarez‎, who took office in 1673 AN. He is the leader of the Social Democratic Club, which won the most seats in the Council of the Wechua Nation in the elections of 1673 and 1678.
