Isherwood is a province in Gerenia. It is the most populous and the most densely populated of the eight provinces of Gerenia, despite being the second least extensive. Isherwood is bordered by Ramez to the south, as the rest of the border is maritime. The province of Isherwood is often referred to as Province of Isherwood to distinguish it from Port Isherwood.

Port Isherwood, with a population of over 1.1 million, is the most populous city in Gerenia. Alone, it makes up over 78% of the population of the province of Isherwood.

History

The Oseski and the Musleki tribes moved to the region at the end of 18th century. During the following eighty years, many villages flourished in the Panormos Peninsula, especially along the coastline. In 1880, Port Isherwood was founded on the left bank of the Maiýnat. Soon afterwards, a settlement called Ciudad Almodóvar appeared on the other side of the river. Both cities engaged in a competition as they grew larger. This eventually led to an armed conflict, which ended circa 1895 with the destruction of Almodóvar. This marked the beginning of the Isherwoodian hegemony on the surrounding territories.

During the 20th century, the province began a process of industrialization. However, this was limited to the southern region of it, while the north and the east of the province remained little inhabited.

Geography

Isherwood occupies the entire Panormos Peninsula. In contrast with Port Isherwood's urban atmosphere, the vast majority of the state is dominated by forests. The province's rural areas and small towns on the coast of the Northern Sea contrast shaply with Port Isherwood.

The Maiýnat River cuts through the south of the state, flowing into Pezara Bay.

The climate is subarctic in the north and west of the province, heavily influenced by the winds coming from the north, and consisting on treeless tundra. In the south, the climate is humid continental, with warm summers, and severely cold winters.
