Dumitru Lacurta is a Nova Caradian journalist and the Editor-in-Chief of the Vocea Republicii newspaper.

Biography

Lacurta was born in Theogiorick, Caradia, in 1642 AN. He dropped out of military school and bought a printing shop with leftover money in 1659. He used this printing shop to create an illegal editorial paper called Acum Ma Vezi, which was highly critical especially of the Duchy's judicial policies and tendency to sequester critics in forced mining camps. For this he was arrested and sequestered in a forced mining camp.

After surviving the camp's conditions for twenty years, Lacurta was able to escape the camp with the only apparent injuries of his time there being malnutrition and some emaciation that was recoverable. According to him, he joined a roving band of nomads and scavenged from the fallen cities for over a year, until they found an abandoned fishing vessel that they used to sail north out of the antarctic. They managed to land on the eastern outskirts of the Ufini district before finding their way to Brațav in early 1690. Lacurta would then take a few months for treatment and self-care to ensure his health before buying a new printing shop in Rorfast. He would sign a deal with Editura Acul later that same year before beginning writing Vocea Republicii.
