The Democratic Party was one of two major political parties in Alexandrian politics, the other one being the Monarchist Coalition Party. The party traces its beginnings soon after the Revolution of 1774, when moderate deupties in the Alexandrian Commonwealth founded the party. Currently, the Democratic Party does not exist. Its last Prime Minister was Joseph Marie Mayeur.
The Social Democratic Party broke off from the Democratic Party soon after the election of 1911.
