Court of Vista de Nada

The Court of Vista de Nada is the imperial court of the Emperor of the Natopians in the East. It serves as the Emperor's executive cabinet with responsibilities for foreign affairs and defense in Eastern Natopia, and the Emperor's extended household as it relates to duties of governing. It is composed of the imperial secretaries appointed by the Emperor in the East and each secretary's subordinate bureaucracy. The court is based in Vista de Nada Palace in Lindstrom. It was made legally distinct from the Imperial Court of Natopia and the western court after the Division of the Natopian Empire as there are two now co-equal Emperors of the Natopians in Western Natopia and Eastern Natopia. Both Eastern and Western Natopia continue to cognize the legal continuity and perpetual unity of the single office of the Emperor of the Natopians, but now that office is occupied by more than a single person. As such, the Court of Vista de Nada serves as the eastern Emperor's legal mechanism for exercising imperial authority within Eastern Natopia.

The Lesser Courts

The court itself is composed of three lesser courts, the Court of the Calm Waters, the Court of the Verdant Gardens, and the Court of the Golden Isle; each charged with handling the various responsibilities of the Emperor in the East.

Court of the Calm Waters

Court of the Calm Waters

The Court of the Calm Waters serves as the office for His Most Bovic Majesty's Secretary for Foreign Affairs and Chamberlain of the Court of the Calm Waters. The Secretary is appointed by the Emperor and is responsible for carrying out foreign policy, advising the Emperor on diplomacy, serving as chief diplomat, and acting as de facto ambassador to other nations. The court is named for Lindstrom Harbor and Borders Bay Canal that surround Vista de Nada Palace, bodies of water that connect Natopia to the world, and the desire for calm and productive diplomacy with other nations. The Court includes all ambassadorial appointments to foreign missions and is responsible for the safety and management of all embassies and consuls of eastern Natopia. It works with the Defense Secretary to provide additional security.

The court has subordinate offices, appointed by the Secretary:

  • His Most Bovic Majesty's Delegation to the Micras Treaty Organization
    • The Honorable, Baron Thomas Mills IV
  • Eastern Natopian Foreign Service
  • Office of Consular Affairs
  • His Most Bovic Majesty's Plenipotentiary to the Permanent Commission of the Raspur Pact
    • The Honorable, Baroness Ursula Brandt

Court of the Verdant Gardens

Court of the Verdant Gardens

The Court of the Verdant Gardens serves as the office for His Most Bovic Majesty's Secretary for Defense and Chamberlain of the Court of the Verdant Gardens. The Secretary is appointed by the Emperor and is responsible for providing for the Natopian Nation's defense, providing civilian administration for the Natopian Defense Force, and advising the Emperor in the East in military issues. Because both Eastern and Western Natopia share the Natopian Defense Force, the Emperors of the Natopians always concur on appointing the same individual as Defense secretary to ensure unified command and standardization. The court is named for the state gardens, maintained north of Vista de Nada Palace.

Court of the Golden Isle

The Court of the Golden Isle serves as the office for His Most Bovic Majesty's Secretary for Imperial Affairs and Chamberlain of the Court of the Golden Isle. The Secretary is appointed by the Emperor and is responsible for assisting in all other duties that fall under the Emperor's responsibilities and administering the Satyric Guard. It also serves as the formal link between the imperial dynasty and the government. It is also charged with maintaining eastern Natopian state icons under the Aigoeidis Kodikas which includes designing and granting coats of arms in Eastern Natopia, creating flags, emblem and other symbols. The Court of the Golden Isle also creates and maintains the imperial honor and awards system and oversees the Natopian Peerage. It is named after Yellow Island, the Waffel-Paine family's traditional seat of power.

The court has subordinate officers, usually appointed by the Secretary:

  • Chief Herald of Eastern Natopia
  • Liaison of the Avatar of the House of Waffel-Paine
  • Chief of Staff of the Imperial Consort
  • Liaison of the Prince/Princess of Natopia
  • Captain of the Satyric Guard
  • Master of Awards and Peerages
