Abbreviation CAWI
Formation 12.XIII.1685 AN
Purpose/focus Bringing further integration between Alduria and the Wechua Nation; exploring the creation of an Aldu-Wechu Federation
Chairperson Vicaquirao Alvarez
Vice Chairperson Alejandro Campos

The Committee for Alduro-Wechu Integration is a committee composed of government officials and key community leaders from the Republic of Alduria and the Wechua Nation. The committee was formed in 1685 AN after several rounds of talks between both nations over 1680 AN to 1685 AN. The purpose of the committee is to facilitate further integration of both Alduria and the Wechua Nation with each other, with the end goal being a proposed Aldu-Wechu Federation.

The road map towards a full political federation will be discussed in detail at future meetings. A subcommittee of constitutional experts and drafters from both nations was formed in 1685 AN to explore the process of drafting a federal constitution.

Alduria-Wechua Relations

Alduro-Wechua relations encompass a very close relationship between both nations, ranging from the foundation of Alduria in 1669 AN, through the collapse of the Wechua Nation in 1680 AN, all the way through today. Since the Wechua Restoration in 1683 AN, both countries have been close economic and military allies.

The two nations are bound together by their large Alexandrian and Caputian diasporas and overlap in religion. The relationship was improved significantly when Alduria joined the Raspur Pact, making it a Wechua alliance partner. Today, large numbers of expatriates live in both countries.

Maritime trade began in 1683 AN when the first sea routes were established between the countries from Punta Santiago to the only port the Wechua had at the time, San Francisco. This trade route was instrumental in helping support and bolster the fragile Wechua Restoration and in helping the return of thousands of Wechua citizens from Alduria back with supplies, capital, and knowledge.

Proposals

A federation of Alduria and Wechua into a single state has been discussed, with early estimates of the founding of the federation being unclear at the moment. With both nations serving as close Raspur Pact partners, they already have a common market for goods, labor, and capital. The goal of establishing a common currency has been identified and established for 1689 AN. There isn't a goal date established yet for a full political federation.
