Cinema of Alduria

Aldurian cinema comprises the art of film and creative movies made within the nation of Alduria or by Aldurian filmmakers abroad.

Alduria is noted for having a particularly strong film industry, due in part to protections afforded by the local Aldurian governments to attract investment and positive coverage of their state to attract new settlers.

Apart from its strong film tradition, Alduria has also been a gathering spot for artists from across Eura and the world. For this reason, Aldurian cinema is sometimes intertwined with the cinema of foreign nations. Directors from nations such as Constancia, the Wechua Nation, and other nations are prominent in the ranks of Aldurian cinema. Caputian film companies and directors have had prolific and influential careers in Alduri following the collapse of Caputia to the White Plague, such as Hans Backovic.

Another element supporting this fact is that the city of Punta Santiago and Amapola are among the cities of Micras that have the highest density of cinemas, measured by the number of movie theaters per inhabitant. Punta Santiago also boasts Blakeslee Movie Studios, a major studio north of the city.

Alduria produced in the year 1678 a record-breaking 200 feature-length films. This is largely due to the commercial strength of domestic productions, which accounted for well more than half of admissions in 1678. Also, the Aldurian film industry is closer to being entirely self-sufficient, recovering around 80–90% of costs from revenues generated in the domestic market alone.
