The Britannia national football team was the football team which represented the micronation of the Britannic Empire, commonly known as Britannia. The team was the official successor of New Brittania and Númenor, and as such retained their records. It was member of the WMFA, and was run by the NBFA.

History

The team was founded in mid-2008 after the Britannic Empire, the successor state to New Brittania, successfully claimed on Micras. Under the name of New Brittania, the team was one of the founding members of the FMF when the organisation was created in October 2006 prior to the first FMF World Cup. The national team competed in the tournament, finishing third in their group with four points. Following the tournament, New Brittania was succeeded by Númenor before reverting to its old name later in the year.

Again as New Brittania, the team competed in 2007's World Cup qualifiers, where they beat Mania 7–1 on aggregate in the WMFA first round before a 3–1 aggregate win over Istvanistan sealed qualification. However, in the finals, the team were less successful, finishing bottom of their group with only one point to their name. Later in the year, the team was invited to compete in the inaugural EMU Championships, despite being affiliated to the WMFA. The team finished second in their seven-team group and advanced to the quarter-finals, where they lost to 2–1 to co-hosts Nova England. New Brittania left Micras in early 2008.

In their first appearance as Britannia, the 2008 qualifiers, the team's fortunes lessened, being eliminated from the first round on the away goals rule after drawing 2–2 with Beaugium on aggregate. Britannia left Micras in late 2008.
