The Boreal Air Bridge is a strategic air bridge, originally pioneered by the trans-Hyperborean flight of Ayreon IV on his first state visit to the Elian Union (later Normark) in 16XX AN. The route from Shirekeep-Foley Aerodrome to the NDF base at Nynormarksudda came into its own after the collapse of Caputia during the height of the White Plague cut Normark's access to an at least sympathetically neutral supply base.

Since 1673, the Air Bridge has been resumed, connecting several Raspur Pact allies with several daily scheduled passenger, freight and military flights. After the end of the Elwynnese Civil War, routes over Elwynn were banned from commercial traffic. Despite this, the Hurmu Air Service has taken a significant market share of Boreal air routes, by an intelligent use of Hurmu's free-trade agreements with both the Xäiville Convention and the Raspur Pact (see Hurmu–Raspur Pact Free Trade Agreement), with Samhold and Leng being important hubs for the company.

Operations were effectively suspended after the Volsaarn Paladins expelled the last remnants of the Imperial garrison at enu Kalirion station to perish miserably upon the pack ice in the eighth month of 1671.

As of 1690 the Boreal Air Bridge additionally provides for a connecting air service between Eliria Aerodrome and Vesüha (Hurmu) via the Hellistelli International Airport (Jääland).

From 1692 AN and onwards, many of the routes of the air bridge (mainly with Benacia as a point of transit, destination or departure) were once again suspended following the outbreak of the Second Elwynnese Civil War in that year. The Norse–Hurmu route remained intact. The economy of Jääland suffered from the impact of the closure of the Eliria route.

In 1719, discussions began with respect to a potential Tirlar/Relgannan (in Arboria) to Judah route (in the Federation of Nouvelle Alexandrie).
