Baroness Kessei

The Baroness Kessei is a title of nobility in the Imperial Peerage of Shireroth created for Kessei Aþame Mitēuřamae Anykylin Imar in 1670, seven years after after her emigration from Shireroth during the Safir Exodus in 1663. She had previously been Princess of Shireroth as a former Kaiseress in her own right (Kaiseress Semisa II, 1608)

As a title of baronial degree, the holder is in a unique status of being regarded to be a noble of Shireroth but not a citizen of Shireroth. All other nobles are citizens of Shireroth, and all citizens of Shireroth are nobles of Shireroth. As such, the title was an expression of the Kaiser's gratitude to Lady Kessei's services to the Imperial Republic, allowing her to have noble privilege while visiting Shireroth, yet remain a non-citizen according to her own conscience.
