Alexandra Maria Lucius is a Batavian lawyer and author of Flemish descent. Alexandra was born as the eldest daughter of former two-term Flemish President and governor of Libreterre Marcus Lucius. Following the demise of the Flemish state, the Lucius family moved to Batavia. After studying Batavian literature at the University of Davignon, Alexandra went on to study law, set on becoming a civil rights lawyer after witnessing attrocities following the Jing occupation in Itteria. She was admitted to the 's Koningenwaarde bar in 1677, following which she quickly made a name with her enthusiastic support for individual liberty, non-discrimination and republicanism. In 1678, she published her first book called The Weight of the Crown in which she outlined her republican principles and argued that the Emergency government led by King Arkadius IV was in violation of ancient Batavian principles.

Alexandra became a member of Voorwaarts Batavië! while in college and served as vice chair of its youth wing. She was elected party leader in expectation of the 1681 elections.
