The 2020 Rugby Union World Cup is an upcoming rugby union tournament organised by the Micras Rugby Union. It will be the first competition to feature the national Rugby Union teams of various Micras nations since the Rugby at the 2018 Micras Games – Rugby union. In mid-2020 Calbion was designated to host the World Cup.

Sixteen nations participate in the group stage of the World Cup, eight of which will advance to the elimination rounds.

Group Stage

The group stage for the 2020 World Cup started in October, the MRU member nations, as well as previous participating countries in rugby union tournaments were given the chance to participate in the tournament, hoping to advance to the final round of eight. Sixteen teams participated in the group stage. Host Calbion and Senya easily advanced to the next stage of the tournament in group A. Group B saw an upset when the Florian team narrowly lost to debuting Batavia and failing to advance to the second round, Batavia advanced together with group leader Tellia. Group C was a heated contest between Nova England, Mercury and Jingdao, which saw these three teams win 2 matches each. Mercury eventually edged out Jingdao on points difference to advance.
