The 1672 Sanaman local elections were held on 15-16.X.1672. The purpose was to elect local citizens' councils across the country. Approximately 5,500 councils were formed using direct democracy, with public citizens' meetings accessible by all citizens over 18 years of age. The citizens' meetings will meet annually to conduct public business. Between the meetings, the business of the commune will be handled by elected communal councils on a non-partisan basis.

Following these elections, the communes decided to federate into 68 cantons, covering the entirety of the territory of Sanama. Lower Highpass has not yet been incorporated into Sanama and elections could therefore not take place there.
