Ahvaz is a coastal city located in south-western Alduria, a Region of Nouvelle Alexandrie. Situated along the Southern Aldurian Riviera on the Gulf of Susa, the city is known for its warm coastal climate characterized by hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. Founded in 1521 AN by Babkhan settlers who established a small fishing village at the site of a natural harbor, Ahvaz gradually developed into an important regional center for trade and maritime commerce. The city's population of 892,450 within the municipal limits, with an additional 452,750 in surrounding communities, makes it one of the larger urban centers along the Riviera coastline.
The city serves as an industrial and tourism hub for the southern Aldurian coast. Ahvaz is home to the Ahvaz Automotive Engineering Company, one of Nouvelle Alexandrie's leading automobile manufacturers, which established its original headquarters and primary manufacturing facilities in the city's Zona Industrial district during the mid-1600s AN. The automotive sector remains central to the local economy, alongside a thriving tourism industry that draws visitors to the city's beaches, historic port district, and the scenic Paseo Marítimo promenade. The New Alexandrian Hustlers (formerly Ahvaz United FC), the city's professional football club, competes in the Aldurian Football League and maintains a devoted local following.
