After the Nazarene Uprising of 1748 had been put down, Princess Emilia Antoinette of the Confoederatio Aemilia hoped that peace would return to the nation. She was sorely mistaken, the threat of flood when the Eternal Mistress decided to visit her descendant Herodias Blutwasser, and then the slaughter of the rebels by the horny demons had frightened a lot of people and opened people's eyes to the role of the princess. Nazarene preachers who warned for an impending day of judgement found more willing ears than ever before and for the first time since the inception of the nation, the perceived legitimacy of the princess crumbled. Used to getting her way because of her charisma, princess Emilia Antoinette was not sure how to respond to the unrest. At first she thought of stepping down, but the religious preachers were extremists who wanted to bring the nation back to the perceived patriarchal glory time of the 1710's when woman were supposed to be obedient to their husbands and sexual minorities had no way of being their true selves in public. That was not something the princess would want to take hold of the nation, not now it had been united only years ago, a golden age should start instead.

The people were afraid of the supernatural, because they were unaccustomed to it, she thought. So from now on, the supernatural should leave the shadows and take up space in public life. She anticipated a backlash, but this was a conflict she needed to face now. So she went to her drawers, got five black candles, her dagger, some chalk and got to work. As she was chalking out the lines of the pentagram on her floor, Merida walked in, puzzled by what she saw. But she just shook her head and went towards the kitchen to make coffee for herself. After putting up the candles as well and lighting them, Emilia Antoinette slit her wrist with her silver dagger and let the blood drip in the middle of the circle. In Problematic, she called for a succubus to make her presence known.

In his church in Hamstadt, Kees Seck had just met with the elders of his church to discuss the political situation in the federation and they had decided to put their faith in the insurrection against Princess Emilia Antoinette. For next Sunday, they had planned a sermon where they would announce it to the rest of the parish, and they would try to convince the city council to openly rebel against the national government. For now, it was time to sleep. Kees Seck took off his clothes and changed into his pyjamas, said his prayers, turned off the light and got into bed. He was an easy sleeper so it didn't take long for him to fall asleep. What was unusual for him was what happened in his dreams. He was greeted by a scantily-clad woman with bright red hair, a pale complexion, wings like that of a bat and the horns of a goat. He was frightened but the woman also appealed to him in a way the elders of his church would certainly not approve of. The next few nights, the woman kept returning even though Kees Seck prayed every evening that she would not, on Sunday morning as his housekeeper wanted to wake him, she found him naked in his bed, with his belt around his neck, an ambulance was called but there was nothing that could be done for him anymore. The coroner ruled that erotic asphyxiation was the most likely cause for death.

Reports of preachers siding with the insurrection being found like this spread slowly, as most churches tried to keep these stories under wraps. But when the sensationalist tabloids were tipped off by the police of what was transpiring, and brought the news in chocolate letters on their front pages, it became the talk of the day and led to much ridicule towards the preachers who had presented themselves as holier than the rest of society. Princess Emilia Antoinette read all about it with her morning coffee, snickered, and after she finished breakfast, she got back to her room, chalked her pentagram, set up the candles, and thanked the succubus for services rendered.
