Federal Firearms Verification System
The Federal Firearms Verification System (FFVS) is a computerized national database maintained by the Federal Gendarmerie of Nouvelle Alexandrie for conducting mandatory background checks on all firearm purchases within the Federation of Nouvelle Alexandrie. Established under federal law in 1719 AN, the system requires all firearm sales and transfers, including private sales and gun shows, to undergo federal verification through licensed firearms dealers. The FFVS conducts comprehensive background checks that verify criminal history including felony convictions and domestic violence restraining orders, mental health records indicating legal incapacity, immigration status and citizenship verification, outstanding warrants or pending criminal charges, and prohibited person status under federal or regional law.
The system processes background checks for a standardized fee of NAX€50 per transaction, with revenue directed to the Federal Law Enforcement Enhancement Fund for system maintenance and law enforcement training programs. Licensed firearms dealers are required to conduct all background checks through the FFVS and maintain detailed records as prescribed by federal regulation, while private individuals seeking to sell or transfer firearms must use a licensed dealer to facilitate the background check process. The system became operational in 1724 AN.
