A view of the Keltian Bulk Line, approaching Suerteraro Station
The Keltian Bulk Line is a government-maintained reight and passenger railway corridor that runs from the town of Artés to the terminus in Cajamara. It connects the important cities of Cárdenas, Rimarima, and Parap. It services 25 towns and runs through multiple rural communities, suburbs, and villages. The line forms the backbone of the Keltian rail network of Nouvelle Alexandrie, with the Nouvelle Alexandrie Railways operating both intercity and commuter services.
Since the opening of the Keltian High Speed Line, it now primarily serves local commuter rail services and regional traffic between those cities, while remaining a vital connection to Artés and Santiago in the south, and Cajamarca in the north.
Services
The line is used primarily by the NAR services R4, R5 and R9, as well as C5, C14, and C39. The CP and CCM of the Cárdenas Metro also run on the line. The Regional Express service runs the full distance between Artés and Cajamarca, taking 8 hours and 45 minutes; since the opening of the High-speed line, the shortest travel time between these two has been reduced to 5 hours and 12 minutes non-stop, freeing up the older slower line to other traffic.
