Lanserburg

Lanserburg is one of two maritime fortresses, the other one being Rosaburg, in construction b the Confoederatio Aemilia, designed to defend the coastline and the territorial waters from hostile forces. Construction of the fortress began on 12.I.1729 in secret as ten barges filled with rocks were sunk on the location of a sandbank to create a foundation for the fortress. The Aemilian Classis positioned two triremes in the area of the fortress to prevent shipping from disturbing the site.
