2023 Davinson Islands A-Division |
Davinson Islands A-Division as known as the DavinsonTravel A-Division is the top football division in the Davinson Islands. The league is sanctioned by the Davinson Islands Football Association. All islands in the Davinson Islands are represented in the competition. Most games take place at the 6,500-capacity Davinson Sports Ground in Tuan due to it being the communting and financial center of the island nation despite having multiple football fields around.
League format
The league currently does not practise relegation due to the low number of teams, the nation has a B-Division for youth teams and reserve sides. The A-Division is also not fully professional with clubs such as FC Tai United, Stallion Lapang, Mahata Ngaplang and Kapaluai Rangers registered as semi-professional clubs due to some players refusing to go professional.
Davinson Cup
Every year before the start of the season, the Davinson Cup takes place and is the sole premier cup competition for clubs on the island nation.
Clubs
Out of the 8 teams in the competition, 4 teams share the same stadium due to the lack of stadiums in the country whilst the other 4 have been allocated to other stadiums to relieve the congestion.
