Piracy on Lake Caledonia is an ongoing issue, especially in regard to illegal fishing and hinderance of trade throughout the Storesund Delta. The USSRC is currently the most involved in the prevention of piracy on the waters of the lake with elements of both their military and internal security agencies taking part in daily operations to ensure safe trade and travel.

Origins of Piracy on the Lake

A long-range photograph taken by maritime security agents of the Cerulean KGB of the off-shore pirate base known as Vneshneye Nebo or Outer Heaven. Once owned by the massive Cerulean conglomerate known as Mikoyan-Gazprom, it is now a hive of scum and villainy.

The origins of pirate activity on the Lake date to around the time of the collapse of the Nordic Union, whereby what was once known as the Kingdom of Cerulea once again fell into the anarchy of The Green. With almost the entire region surrounding the lake having deep ties with the fishing and maritime industries, piracy became rampant within months. Several off-shore oil rigs became hubs of piracy activity, many of which were heavily defended by their occupying factions. The most notorious of these off-shore piracy hubs were Vneshneye Nebo (lit. Outer Heaven) and Zanzibarland. As of 1723, there are still engagements between the Cerulean KGB and the Cerulean Navy to quell and eventually end piracy from these last bastions of Green-era piracy in Cerulean waters.
