The Sainte Jane Shrine is a grotto and garden park dedicated to the memory of one of Lac Glacei's most famous historical heroines. Covering some 250 acres (102 hectares) the grotto contains a small chapel and, more recently, a small museum and visitor center dedicated to the biographical history of Jane Purcelle, the heroine who became known as Sainte Jane. The rest of the park is given over to a multitude of paths and flower gardens planted among many trees, interspersed with several ponds, streams and waterfalls. Several pavilions and picnic areas allow visitors to enjoy barbecues, while there are three playgrounds for families. The park is maintained by the Department of Parks and Recreation.
