Seal of the Department of Energy and Environment.

The Department of Energy and Environment is the department that is in charge of the policies of the government of Nouvelle Alexandrie on energy and environmental matters. The department also works with the Department of Defense in managing the "national nuclear deterrent". In addition, it manages and oversees the federal regulatory system for pollution and environmental protection, oversees domestic energy production, promotes and sets policy for energy conservation and environmental protection. This department also works closely with the Department of Interior, especially in providing assistance and technical knowledge to the Federal System of Parks and Monuments, the federal parks system.

The department is headed by a Secretary of Energy and Environment, who is appointed by the King on the advice of the President of the Government. The Secretary of Energy and Environment is a member of the Council of State. The department is equivalent to an energy and natural resources ministry in other nations.

The Department of Energy and Environment is headquartered at the Marco Zimmer Government Building in the Colonne de la Forêt neighborhood of Cárdenas, FCD. The department was established in 1686 AN as part of the New Prosperity Plan to help oversee the large amounts of energy and environment infrastructure projects around the Federation.
