MASOM was an awards ceremony set up around the nations and people of the Micronational Cartography Society. It was created by Cairney and was originally based on the Scotannian forum. The awards were nominated an judged by three independent micronationalists; Cairney, Andreas the Wise and Swamp Candle. This system later became highly contested when the results were deemed corupt. Controversy

When the results where posted on the MCS forum on the 21st February they're were much criticized. The award for 'Best Military' came under much scrutiny as the winners, Gralus, had just lost a war previous to their nomination.
