Peris
Peris is a Sayaffallan city on Banas with a population of 1.4 million.
History
Founding
Peris was founded by a group of explorers on June 1, 1980 who planned to develop the town as a resort city however the land on which they planned to build was a swampland with large amount of aggregate rainwater. Because of the perpetual swamp content of the land it presented a significant challenge to the designing and building of the city. So as a compromise the city was lowered in elevation and deep canals were built to facilitate boat traffic in and out of the city, moreover a channel was created through the swampland connecting to a nearby river to facilitate the moving of the swamp water into the river. To accomplish building of structures the city was laid into a grid pattern with building plots raised over 50ft so that foundations could be built and ensure that the buildings would be structurally sound rather than shifting due to the amount of water in the city.
The city was formally dedicated and opened to the public with an initial "move in" population of 126,500 many of whom came to the city to work in the chocolate and candy factory in the center of town run by the explorers turned entrepreneurs at the center of the towns history. The city's success in its initial early years was a result of not just hard work but also a result of a plan aimed at creating a thriving transportation network which included a passenger airport with connected rail terminal in the same building and extensive roads linking the city to the outside world.
