National Guard of Sanama

The National Guard of Sanama is the territorial force responsible for guarding and protecting the nation and supporting the civilian authorities and the community. It is organised on a cantonal basis, with each canton fielding at least one battalion. The smaller cantons field a company and the largest field several battalions. Guardsmen keep their military weapons disassembled in their home to increase readiness and reduce response times. The National Guard units are subordinate to the regional command structure.
