The defense industry of Oportia is a vital sector of the nation's economy, responsible for equipping and supporting the Oportian Security Forces. Since Oportia joined the Raspur Pact in 1729 AN, its defense industry has undergone significant changes. Many of Oportia's native defense firms have been acquired by larger companies based in Raspur Pact partner nations such as Natopia and Nouvelle Alexandrie. The firms that have remained under Oportian ownership have largely stayed afloat by entering into licensing agreements to manufacture products designed by foreign defense contractors. Leviathan Dynamics is Oportia's primary manufacturer of land warfare systems. Its products include artillery pieces, armored personnel carriers, and main battle tanks.
The largest naval supplier in Oportia is Nautilus Shipyards. Nautilus constructs oil tankers, corvettes, frigates, amphibious ships, fast patrol boats, and naval support ships at its facilities in the coastal city of Port de Huile. It has also begun developing Oportia's first indigenously-produced guided missile destroyer, the Trident-class destroyer. In 1729 AN, the Pontecorvo Firm acquired a controlling stake of Nautilus Shipyards in a bid to expand its naval manufacturing capacity.

Amiral, based in Vanie, is Oportia's top manufacturer of infantry weapons. It produces a full catalog of small arms, including the AM-12 assault rifle (the standard weapon of the Oportian Army), submachine guns, shotguns, sniper rifles, machine guns and handguns. Amiral was acquired under ambiguous circumstances by the Euran Directorate of the Honourable Company in 1721 AN after nationwide unrest.
