The Commonwealth of Port Balaine Gendarmery (Toki Wawa: lawa ma uta pi ma jan pi telo esun Palin) is the unified military force of the Commonwealth of Port Balaine. The Gendarmery provides national defense to Port Balaine, including traditional naval, airborne and armored components. The force is tasked with mitigation of external threats, including border control, as well as civil defense. The Gendarmery is also charged with the protection of significant national assets, such as nuclear, aeronautical and governmental installations.
Within the Gendarmery, the Commonwealth of Port Balaine Constabulary (Toki Wawa: lawa ma pi ma jan pi telo esun Palin) is the national police force and security service of Port Balaine, charged with regular policing and internal intelligence. Personnel assigned to the Constabulary focus on civil rather than military affairs.
