The Sanaman Armed Forces initiated a plan to reorganise in 1690, encompassing all service, but primarily the Army and Air Force. The stated objective was to consolidate the services with combat force reductions to improve and expand support functions, and relocate bases to improve supply lines and defensive depth.

Changed combat command structure

  • Operational command transferred from the service staffs to new combat commands
    • Six combat commands:
      • Western Command (WESTCOM), covering Cisamarra, Lagunas, Xolano, Fatehpur Sikri and Indipendensa
      • Central Command (CENTCOM), covering Amarra Esa, Xawakalë, National Capital District and Thanatos
      • Southern Command (SOUTHCOM), covering Lamika, Tikano and Niyi, as well as possibly So-Sara in the future
      • Eastern Command (EASTCOM), covering Enosa, Qalit and Semisa
      • Northern Command (NORTHCOM), covering Highpass and Western Shimmerspring, as well as possibly Eastern Shimmerspring in the future
      • Expeditionary Command (EXCOM), commanding such units as assigned to it from either a geographical command, a support command or the reserves

      • Special Forces Command (SOFCOM)

    • Each command controls the units subordinate to it regardless of service
    • Each combat command contain two army divisions, one for combat forces and one for support forces, and an air group, coastal commands also contain a naval squadron

Force changes

  • Army
    • 415,000 strong regular Army, 100,000 strong active Reserve
    • A combat force strength of 30 – 35 brigade combat teams
    • Organisation of an appropriate number of support brigades
    • General staff organises non-operational activities through several Army Commands
    • Purchase and deployment of the BK-IV Bastiat IFV to replace the Horjin, which will be transferred to the reserve and National Guard The BK-IV will become the IFV for the armoured brigades, the Horjin the main combat vehicle for the mechanised brigades
    • Right-sizing the fleet of vehicles and aircraft
    • Development, procurement and deployment of an APC-IFV crossover wheeled fighting vehicle for the mechanised brigades Role filled by Horjin CV56
    • Establish the Army Military Police for law enforcement and force security duties
  • Navy
    • Navy will stand up two Naval Strike Groups initially, looking to be increased to four
      • NSGs consisting of one Rhodondra-class amphibious assault ship, two Independence-class transport docks, two destroyers, one submarine, and one embarked Marine Expeditionary Unit, can be reinforced if needed by a cruiser
    • Right-sizing of the Naval Aviation Corps, Corps of Navy Marines, auxiliary fleet and regular fleet
    • Consolidated base structure
    • Possible purchase of the Protector-class frigate
    • Clearly defined roles for every unit and vessel
    • Establish the Navy Security Force, combining naval base security, military police duties, and force and ship security.
  • Air Force
    • Project 1700

    • Retirement of the Shrike to reserve status
    • As the X-17 is introduced, retirement of the Banshee
    • Right-sizing of staff and support functions
    • Right-sizing of aircraft inventory and squadrons
    • Further development of a strategic force

    • Reorganise the Air Force Brigade into the Air Force Security Force, combining base security, military police and special operations for the Air Force.

    • Development of a border patrol and border security role
    • Development of a general mobilisation role, i.e. supply line security, rearguard, occupation control
