| Named for its capital city which was first established in 23.99 PSSC, the Realm of Kota Baru is a vast, mountainous region which is located in the northwestern reaches of the [[Dependency of Tanah-Baru]], and which is notably the home of a number of anti-imperialist, anti-Bassarid paramilitary forces. Since 39.74 PSSC, the [[New Zimian War League]] has maintained anti-insurgency efforts in the region, in an effort to protect trade routes and the merchants who travel along them between the cities of eastern Tanah-Baru and Fort Carol, which lies along the eastern shore of the [[Captive Sea]].
