Tianhoucheng, meaning City of the Empress of Heaven, was long known as the Batavian capital 's Koningenwaarde. Nowadays it holds an important strategical naval base of the Imperial Jingdaoese Navy, serves as its Western Fleet communication headquarter and is home to a large number of Batavians and Jingdaoese refugees displaced by Jexit.
It's situated in western Benacia and is completely surrounded by the Shirerithians. This resulted in an increase of military personnel and defence investments in 6302 ASC. It was described by Jingdaoese officers as "the needle in the flanks of the Shiretits and beacon of hope for all the Batavian people who now live under the oppressive yoke of their regime."
Since 1641 AN the enclave has been subject to regular reconnaissance flights and propaganda leaflet drops by the Shirerithian Bomber Command and Coastal Command[1] and is surrounded on all its landward borders by units of the Elwynnese Union Defence Force and the Amokolian Highlander regiments.
During the War of Lost Brothers the city was effectively placed under siege following a failed Jingdaoese attempt to conquer Shirerithian Batavia. The Batavian Front degenerated into a stalemate leaving the city and its garrison largely isolated from the forces of the USSO.
