After being abandoned the island was rediscovered by Louis Riel during the Riel Expedition, wherein he named it Rielrar; a combination of his own name and a nod to its Gralan past. The ruins of the former Gralan capital city served as the location Riel would found his eponymous city, [[Montriel]].

Rielrar was the capital city of the former Kingdom of Toketi, and which served as one of the administrative capitals of the Gralan Empire during its existence. It was previously known as Rillanon.
