Association football is the most popular sport in Whales. Due to the cold climate in Whales, football is often played on gravel. There are two artificial-grass pitches in Whales, one in Volksburg and one in Köniz.

National team

Whales is a member of the Micras-wide FMF and the regional Cibola and Tapfer Football Association. Due to historical reasons, Whales has its own national football team.
