Saifus the Noble (972-1025) was the first King and Monarch of Sayaffallah and recognized as the founder of the country as it is known today.
Early life and childhood
Very little is known about Saifus other than he is the son of a priest living the mountains of Sayaffallah, some historical accounts believe he is an illegitimate child of a mercenary but this is disputed by historians who accuse it of being propaganda from Saifus day to discredit his legacy.
Appointment as King
Saifus the Noble was appointed King by the Council of Nobles and Trio of Elders in the year 990 and historical accounts say that he was selected because of his work helping widows and the poor throughout the tribe and providing them with shelter in the forest from their creditors. This made an impression with the Council of Nobles who referred to him as "Noble" and gave him the affixed title at the end of his name. Saifus is recorded as having initially refused saying he would rather help the people directly than from a throne but in the end he relented and accepted the position.
Saifus first act as King was to summon all of the tribes together and hammer out a peace agreement among them. This agreement became known as the Treaty of Bridgements which established a unification of the tribes and the creation of a Monarch Assembly which would be the precursor of the Parliament of the Nation that would come much later in history. Historical accounts say after this that Saifus disappeared for a while and returned to his work of helping the poor and sheltering those seeking refuge from their creditors and that search parties were sent to find him and ask him to return to being King but that he would refuse each time.
Death
Not much is written in regards to the death of Saifus but historical accounts believe that he died of a stomach disease after a prolonged illness and that he desired to be buried among the waterfalls in the mountains of the mystic which is believed to have been carried out.
Legacy
Saifus the Noble is remembered as being the father of the nation and his likeness is featured on the currency of Sayaffallah and he is memoralized with statues across the country and also on the main steps of the Parliament complex itself. Saifus original treaty is housed under special care in the Museum of Royal History in the capital of the country.
