The 1720 Aerlan elections were held in order to elect a new president, as well as new members of the National Assembly of Aerla. It was called in response of the Public Relief Board funds scandal. The election saw a very narrow victory for the Reformist Bloc, but not without massive gains by the Conservative Bloc.

Background

With Cassian out of politics, the Reformist Bloc held a caucus to pick their new leader. The party chose to elect a young lawyer from Harpersville, Basil Fitzroy.

Due to the success of his tenure as party leader, Joshua Gardner was selected to run for President.
