Tales from Kalgachia is a collected literary narrative of the Garden of Kalgachia. Penned by Krasniy Yastreb, each instalment depicts an episode in the life of a random Kalgachi inhabitant set against the nation's wider social and political background. Although the tales are written to stand alone, those depicting the life of the Kalgachi head of state (indicated in bold) can be assembled into a rough serial.

To date, the tales are:

...in which Kalgachia's leaders discuss novel uses for bodily waste.

...in which a doctor muses upon his unrequited love.

...in which the Kalgachi military verifies the downfall of Shrubdom.

...in which a monastery is inspected by a mysterious bureaucrat.

...in which a soldier's act of self-abuse is rudely interrupted.

...in which a school is inspected by a mysterious bureaucrat.

...in which the capabilities of the Minarborian invalid carriage are proven beyond doubt.

...in which two infatuated Nezenis embark on a naughty weekend.

...in which Kalgachia exploits the effluence of Shirerithian instability with an inappropriate degree of jollity.

...in which a religious cleric and a psychiatrist demonstrate the unique qualities of Kalgachi jurisprudence.

...in which a schoolteacher receives a substantial promotion.

...in which a geologist receives a substantial promotion.

...in which a health worker is snowed in.

...in which the Kalgachi head of state is bombarded with surprises in the middle of the night.
