The Andilarian Empire, better known by its short name Andilar also known as Y Arfordir Corachod (Calbic for The Coast of the Elves) is an client state of Calbion located on East of Keltia. The Coast of the Elves is one of Calbion's most important territories in extending control over the Great Western sea, where it is locked in a power struggle against Raspurid naval forces. In 1694, Calbion abandoned the colony Eastern Keltia, and relocated resources to the Elven Isles, where it aims to consolidate the entire East coast. The Afordir Corachod is also a crucial hub for the many trading routes crossing the Ocean from the Cibolan colonies.

Culturally, the region remains influenced by the ancient Menelmacari civilisation and the remnants of the Fëanorian people continue to exist in the realm of Andilar. However, the time has granted to Andilar a culture that also has noticable distinctions.

The Andilarian Empire, better known by its short name Andilar is a loose federation of lands bound together under the crown of the Emperor. It is located on the East coast of Keltia. The Andilarian lands are sparsely populated and are home to various tribes that still hold to ancient customs and religions.

Andilar was colonised by Calbion in the late 17th century, in its quest for domination over the Great Western sea, where it was locked in a power struggle against Raspurid naval forces. The coastal cities of the Empire proved crucial hub for the many trading routes crossing the Ocean from the Cibolan colonies. Nevertheless, the Calbain never managed to excert control over the Empire aside from these cities, having established trading posts on Andilar island and its capital, as well as Erynnor and Fort Intrepid. Though following colonisation, the Calbain declared that the title of Emperor was now bestowed on the Prince of the Calbain, much of the indigenious population did follow this. Instead, they believed that the true Emperor of Andilar wat the Emperor of the Black Mountain, a mysterious figure said to reside on the mountain of Beorg-Dur (lit. Black Mountain).

History and Culture

Much of the Andilarian Empire used to be part of loose feudal monarchical entities, starting with the Shirithian lands of Nynchara and the Kingdom of Uantir. Much of the traditions, such as a strong appetite for military matters and bloodsports, and a strong hierarchical societal structure, derive from this era. The Griffin, symbol adopted by the indigious Andilari that holds a strong cultural, religious and mythical meaning, derives from the Uantiri era. In later years, the Palesh tribe gained prominence over a large part of the current Andilarian territory. In 1670, the Iron Company arrived on the island of Angár, where they established a trading post that grew into the city of Andilar, which became the namesake of the current Empire. Building upon the trading infrastructure of the Iron Company, the Calbain colonised parts of the Empire in the late 17th century, though effective control was limited to the island and coast.

Andilar Wars

Main article: Andilar Wars

Following the Calbain Troubles, the assassination of Prince Deiniol, the Calbain military and political leadership required an increasing focus on the Calbain mainland, resulting the gradual withdrawal of Calbain troops from it's colonies. This power vaccuum was exploited by Andilari, especially the armies loyal to the King of Beorg-Dur. From 1734 onward, the various anti-Calbain armies slowly captured larger cities within Andilar, notably Kándar and C'hagar. Witnessing these threats in their immediate region, Celebarad joined the conflict. The Celebaradi retained a good relationship with the Calbain, although the murder of Prince Deiniol had deminished this somewhat. Nevertheless, Calbain presence was seen as positive, as they kept the - often hostile and viscious - Andilari forces from posing a threat to Celebaradi lands. Celebaradi ships sailed up North, and quickly took control of the Vraillan islands and the sparesely populated Krufnspire Island. From Porth Auren in the Vraillan islands, the Celebaradi organised a force that would be able to aid the Calbain if need be.

In 1737, the forces of the King of Beorg-Dur razed and destroyed the the City of Andilar. The Calbain officially surrendered and gave up their claim over Andilar.
