| The Sultan is the ceremonial head-of-state of Kurum Ash-Sharqia. [[Salah Ad-Din Al-Lusirni]] is the nation's first Sultan. He was offered the crown in {{AN|09|2021}} because of his outstanding tenure as [[president of New Batavia]]. The reigning sultan appoints a crown prince from within his house, who will ascend the throne on the sultan's abdication or demise. In {{AN|10|2021}} he married Batavian princess [[Elisabeth Asara|Elisabeth Asara des Vinandy]]. As a consequence of that marriage, he automatically became a [[Order of the Holy Lakes|knight of the Holy Lakes in Hurmu]].
