The Department of Trade and Industry is the department that oversees conditions and operations for economic growth and opportunities, economic and demographic data, and industrial standards. It is also concerned with International Trade.
The Department of Trade and Industry works closely with the Department of the Treasury regarding economic policy. It works with the Department of Labor on policies for the workforce and business security.
The Department is headed by a Secretary of Trade and Industry, who is appointed by the King on the advice of the President of the Government. The Secretary of Research and Development is a member of the Council of State. The department is equivalent to a Labor and Commerce ministry in other nations.
The department was established in 1708 AN, to administer economic markets, trade policies, and sustainable development. It is headquartered at the Morning Wind Building in the Government Triangle neighbourhood of Cárdenas, FCD. It took over certain aspects of the Department of Labor, particularly the Commerce division.
