The Islamic Internet Republic national football team was the football team which represented the micronation of the Islamic Internet Republic. It was a member of the CTFA, after originally being affiliated to the EMUFA, and was the official successor of the Netherlands and is the official predecessor of New Batavia.
The team existed twice in the FMF's history; firstly in 2011, and secondly in late 2020.
History
The team was founded in early 2011 after the foundation of the Islamic Internet Republic as the successor state to the Netherlands. Under the name of the Netherlands, the team finished bottom of their four-team 2010 World Cup qualifying group with one point.
The Islamic Internet Republic team competed in their first qualifiers the following year, again finishing bottom of their group but with twice as many points as the previous year. The Islamic Internet Republic left Micras in late 2011.
The Islamic Internet Republic returned to Micras in late 2020 but was succeeded by New Batavia shortly afterwards before the national team could play any further matches.
