The Unilaterally Independent, also known as the UI, is a satirical newspaper on Micras. Established in January 2016 and run as a joint enterprise between Craitman of Craitland and Joe Foxon of Mercury, the UI publishes infrequent articles ranging from the subverting of current events to clickbait-style lists. The paper won the FNORD for Journalism for 2017.

In 2020, the UI started posting shorter-form content on Tweeter, however due to a change in its Terms of Service, the paper voluntarily closed down its account.
