Together with Anquan Zuguo it serves to protect the Apollonian coastline from the Jingdaophobic MTO. The name Baohu Tianchao means "Protection of the celestial empire" in Istvanistani. The area surrounding the ports was previously Jingdaoese territory until it was vacated in 1665, a claim has been made with the MCS to gain international recognition of the renewed Jingdaoese claim on the territory.
