The '''2012 Mercury Footby League''' is the first season of the [[Mercury Footby League]].
The '''2012 Mercury Footby League''' will be the inaugural [[Mercury Footby League]] season, contested by 16 teams. The teams will be split into four divisions. They will play each team in their division twice (one home and one away) and every other team in the league once (six home games and six away games), for a total of 18 games. After this, the division winners will qualify for the playoffs, along with the two best other teams.

Each team will play every other team at home and away (totalling 10 games in a season). Four points are awarded for a win, two for a draw and none for a loss. After every match, regardless of result, a shootout will occur, with the winner gaining a bonus point.
