The First Minister of Valenciennes is the elected head of the Valenciennes Provincial Parliament.
The First Minister constitutionally was originally elected 'however the Provincial Parliament saw fit', but since April 2008, the election of the First Minister has been governed by the First Minister Elections [April 2008] Act [1]. There is yet to be an election using the new Act—the first such election will be late June 2008.
