The nation is quite ancient, it was first recorded in 1617 when the Apollonian Republic seceded from Shireroth and the autonomy of the three islands they inhabited at the time was respected by the new government, but probably existed long before that. After the reunification of Shireroth, the Goburin became suspicious of the [[humanist]] sympathies that many in Shirerithian society seemed to have.
