'''Caligae''' is an [[Elwynnese bailiwick]] and city containing the most northern point of the [[Benacia]]n continent, [[Cape Farewell (headland)|Cape Farewell]], located in the [[Congressional Counties|county]] of [[Cape Farewell (county)|Cape Farewell]]. The bailiwick is one of Elwynn's oldest, founded in 1509 as the ''Commune of Caligae''. Its borders were last adjusted in 1680, when the former bailiwicks of [[Andelarion]] and [[Terror]] were amalgamated to the bailiwick.

Due to its geographical location (with good ice-free harbours to the north, to the west and to the east), it has long been the major commercial and political centre of northern Elwynn.
