The '''2022 Phinbellan presidential election''' or '''2618 Phinbellan presidential election''' is a sixth Phinbellan presidential election, it is scheduled to be held in [[Phinbella]] on 3 February  {{RP|2022}}. It will be the second presidential election since the provisional government was dissolved in {{RP|2019}}. Under the [[Constitution of Phinbella|constitution of the Federal Republic of Phinbella]], the president is limited to one term of eighteen months, which means its incumbent, [[Mat Fenian Sheares]] is not eligible to run in this election for a second term after being elected unopposed.

== Background ==

The [[President of Phinbella|President]] is the head of state of the ''Supranational State of the Federal Republic of Phinbella''. According to the [[Constitution of Phinbella|constitution]], his position is largely ceremonial. During the [[Phinbellan provisional government|provisional government]], the election of the president was based on votes by parliament, although shifting from a presidential republic to a parliamentary republic, and subsequently shifting to a presidential republic. Since the provisional government was dissolved, Phinbella has been a parliamentary republic.

The president is elected through a round of popularity voting system, and he is elected by universal suffrage even if reserved for certain groups. The president serves eighteen months for one term, and is not eligible for re-electing either directly or indirectly.

There are strict requirements for candidates, the fullness of candidates for eligibility or otherwise will be decided by the [[Phinbellan Election Commission]].
