== Founding ==

While Gotzborg industry used a high volume of ore to support steel manufacturing, there was no local supplier. Recognizing that gap in the supply chain, Harris-Till began planning the founding of Mitsubiki Mining Company (Gotzborg) on January 14, 2007.

The company was meant as a stepping stone for Harris-Till into the wider Gotzborg economy. In announcing his intent to found the company, he suggested that if it proved successful, mining profits would be used to fund the creation of a shipping company that would compete with the [[Merchant Marine (Gotzborg)|Merchant Marine]], which had a defacto monopoly in Gotzborg for ocean-going transport.

== Operations ==

Mitsubiki Mining Company (Gotzborg), outside of its head office in [[Lonenberg (city)|Lonenberg]], operated solely in the [[Ansbach|Colony of Ansbach]]. The company applied for, and received, a mining licence for iron ore and coal worth 1,500.00 [[Gotzborg Thalers|Thalers]] from the colony's [[Port Augustus Economic Office]] on January 26, 2007. Operations were authorized on the northern slop of the Southern Ansbach Mountain Range. In the event that it discovered a new, unrelated, mineral resource during its operations, the company was given the option to apply for the requisite mining licence for an additional 1,000 Thalers.

The company also sought to purchase 150 acres of agricultural land for 300 Thalers near Port Augustus; however, the sale was never finalized. Land sold within Ansbach remained subject to expropriation by the Crown if deemed necessary, and Mitsubiki Mining did not wish to open itself to such risk.

== Dissolution ==

On July 25, 2005, Scot approached the [[Deputy-Vice Minister of State for Economic Affairs]], [[Benjamin Farzan]] with a proposal to found a privately-owned commercial bank for Gotzborg. The First Micronational Bank was to provide deposit services, loans, securities and negotiable instruments, and foreign exchange. The Gotzborg entity was to be one of many in a Micras-wide network planned by Scot, with day-to-day banking transactions supported by the [[PHP MicroXchange]] system. Ultimately, that plan failed and by July 29th, Scot abandoned the First Micronational Bank without ever starting daily operations.

==Services==

Beyond the traditional deposit and loan services, Scot hoped the First Micronational Bank would found a new stock market, fulfilling a void left over by the failure of several national markets within the [[Apollo Sector]] in 2003. Under the plan, any business in Gotzborg would be able to issue an initial public offering through First Micronational Bank, which would facilitate the transfer of stock and related record keeping. While funds would pass through the PHP MicroXchange system, the lack of automated trading software meant that investors, issuers, and the First Micronational Bank alike would use manual trades supported by a forum on the [[Gotzborg community forums]].

The First Micronational Bank also intended to offer past-due bill collection services, "offline" bank accounts (for those clients who did not possess PHP MicroXchange accounts), and bond sales for both the [[Royal Government of Gotzborg|Royal Government]] and local businesses. Its use of the PHP MicroXchange system would allow it to offer foreign currency exchange services.

Its publication was discontinued on both occasions as the [[Royal Government of Gotzborg|Royal Government]] decided that it was no longer required due to the availability of independent, privately-owned, news services to provide coverage of Gotzborg news and events.

== History ==

On June 14, 2004, the Gotzborg Eagle published its first article, concerning the Gotzborg tourism industry, beginning a permanent shift by the Royal Government from updated the "News" section of the then HTML-based national website to the news blog medium, which was becoming more and more popular in the micronational community.

Hosted on Blogger, the Eagle initially published articles written by [[August Charles II|King August Charles II]] under a generic pen-name ("The Gotzborg Eagle"). On July 8, 2004, [[George Santos]] was appointed as the Eagle's first editor, and he began writing occasional articles alongside the King. During these initial months, only a few articles were published each month.

By September 2004, Santos had left the publiacation and [[Angel Davis]] had joined the staff as a writer. Through her efforts the Eagle was propelled into the mainstream as a high-volume micronational news publication, as Davis wrote numerous articles each month. While Davis' publication frequency would wane in the following months, she had nonetheless cemented herself as a fixture in the organization, eventually becoming its Editor in June 2006, replacing [[Ernest Wilde]] in that role.

=== April 2005 White Paper ===

In April 2005, the low volume of publication by the Eagle's writing staff often caused frustration for [[Liam Sinclair|His Grace Liam]], who was, as the [[Vice-Minister of State (Communications and Information)|Deputy Vice-Minister of State for Communications and Information]], the minister then responsible for it.

Sinclair published a White Paper on the Gotzborg Eagle that month, using it as a platform to criticize the publication as "an anaemic national news service." He also called the publication a "failure" despite the best efforts of then-Editor Wilde to spur the writing staff to produce articles. In order to recover from the perceived failures, Sinclair's White Paper proposed six mandatory actions for implementation, as well as three optional ones. These actions were generally meant to integrate the Eagle with the national economy, to redefine the role of editor in the maintenance of the news service, and to increase the frequency of publication of articles.

A review of the Eagle's compliance with implementing the mandatory actions was set for June 2005, though this was delayed due to the [[Ezboard Data Loss Incident]] at the end of May. Ultimately, the review was postponed indefinitely when Wilde resigned as editor on July 23, 2005. Wilde briefly returned as Editor the following month, stating that his communique had been misinterpreted as a letter of resignation, but published only two further articles for the Eagle before falling inactive after August 7, 2005.

In the end, the White Paper's policies were never fully implemented due to the lack of staffing resources and Sinclair leaving the [[Ministry of Communications and Information]] to become the [[Home Minister (Gotzborg)|Minister of State for the Home Office]].

=== 2006 Dissolution ===

On July 14, 2006, Sinclair, now again serving as the Deputy Vice-Minister for Communications and Information, ordered the dissolution of the Eagle. In justifying the dissolution, Sinclair noted that the Eagle had not published new articles in several months, and both Wilde and Davis had fallen inactive. On July 17, the Eagle's wind-up was completed, and all operations were ceased, with any employees still listed on its payroll released from their positions.

The dissolution created a void insofar as the Kingdom no longer had an official news source. This led to a proposal by [[Hugh O'Neill]] suggesting that the Royal Government let a contract to allow private organizations to compete for the ability to run the Eagle on its behalf. In the end, however, the proposal was not accepted.

While the Eagle was no longer operational, its infrastructure and identity were used by King August Charles II to publish two further articles during July and August 2005, after which the Eagle's infrastructure was finally shut-in, leaving news coverage of Gotzborg events to privately-held news services such as the [[The Coprieta Standard|Coprieta Standard]].

In total, fifty (50) articles had been published by the various writers and editors of the Eagle.

=== 2010 Return to Print ===

When the Royal Kingdom returned to activity following the [[Hiatus of 2007 to 2010]], the privately-held services that had previously covered news and events in Gotzborg were no longer in operation. In order to inform the micronational world of ongoing developments as the Royal Government worked to bring the micronation back to life, the Eagle returned to print, under the editorship of Sinclair. The Eagle published irregular articles from July 2010 to May 2011 (generally once or twice each month), at which point it was again dissolved.

== History ==

On January 21, 2007, Maher announced the creation of the Bellocaparta Herald to report on general news within Gotzborg, as well as specialty topics such as economics, history, and international news from within the [[Novasolum Treaty Act|Novasolum Regional Micronational Community]]. Maher hoped that the Herald would rival the two established news services in the Gotzborg and Novasolum spheres - the [[Coprieta Standard]] and the Alternative Media Company.

The Herald was meant to replace Maher’s monthly news publication, [[The Novasolum Bulletin]], with a more-regularly published weblog format; however, the Herald only released two editions, on January 21 and 22, 2007, before ceasing publication. That cessation was widely attributed to the uphill battle for the Herald to penetrate the news services market, as well as limited time on Maher’s part due to other obligations.

The '''Royal Institute of Micronational Antiquities''', founded by [[Liam Sinclair]] in April 2005, is an organization dedicated to the documentation of historical records of the Anglophone Micronational Sector through first-hand and second-hand research works (i.e. it is not an archival document library) by its membership and other interested parties.

The Institute is based in [[Lonenberg (city)|Lonenberg]], and holds [[August Charles II|HRM August Charles II]] as its patron given that he bestowed the designation of "Royal" upon the institute. The Institute was initially known as the "Royal Institute of Micro-Antiquities" and changed its name to its current form on July 31, 2005.

As of 2016, the Royal Institute no longer functions specifically within its role, but it does continue to exist in name. It's website is used to house the archives of numerous micronational news services while also hosting the [[The Coprieta Standard|Coprieta Standard]] news service.

==Endeavours & Projects==

The Institute aims to encourage the Anglophone Sector population to participate in the documentation of history. To this end, the Institute sponsors various historical events, with the major event being the annual essay contest in which interested participants throughout the sector submit essays on a subject of micronational history. However, it is mostly focused only on the nations that Liam Sinclair himself had been a part of, such as Attera and Amerada.

==Robert Davis Library==

The official library of the Institute is named in honour of Robert Davis, who was instrumental in the founding of the Institute as well as its first member (other than Liam Sinclair). The library holds copies of all writings and documents held by the Institute as well as maintains various micronational news media archives, such as those of publications formerly hosted on the now-defunct Geocities.com network, for public access.

==The RIMA Journal==

With his commitments to the Atteran Chronicle World and Attera ending in February 2005, and with his Gotzborg duties not requiring much intensive work, Liam Sinclair decided to fill the void in his nearly-continuous participation in micronational news through a new publication associated with the Royal Institute, called the RIMA Journal.

Created in April 2005, and published until February 26, 2006, the RIMA Journal was initially a weblog that distributed press releases for the Royal Institute, before it became more focused on communicating micronational history to its readers through original academic articles. On becoming a monthly magazine, the RIMA Journal also profiled various arts and culture issues in micronationalism, provided coverage of current affairs, and provided several articles, from short articles to a central feature article, on a dedicated historical theme.

The July 2005 issue of the RIMA Journal cemented its position as the Anglophone Sector's most popular news and history publication (in circulation at that time) as that issue had close to 350 downloads.

Due to Sinclair's macronational obligations, publication of the popular monthly edition was halted following the release of the August 2005 issue. Irregular updates via the RIMA Journal blog did occur during the downtime of the monthly issue, and in December 2005, the monthly issue returned to the presses. The second volume, planned to be four issues much like the first volume of Summer 2005, produced three issues before cancellation. The RIMA Journal monthly was cancelled permanently on 26 Feb 2006.

All operations and ship assembly occurred at the Montefeltro Ganden Shipyard in [[Ganden]], [[Courland]]. The shipyard was equipped with three docks and two slipways, making it the largest privately-held shipyard within Gotzborg.

The company explored the possibility of constructing a recreational marina near the Ganden fishing harbour for use by its clients; however, the hiatus caused the company's dissolution before that plan was further actioned. In the intervening period, clients were permitted to dock their yachts at the shipyard.

Renderings of yachts were prepared according to the [[Gotzborg Royal Navy Standard for Ship Renderings]].

The creation of the Church of Gotzborg was first proposed by [[Franz Caprivi]] on March 12, 2013, who initially proposed that it adopt a Christian Anglo-Lutheran belief system. The organizational structure was to be inspired by the Catholic Church, with conventional, geographically-limited, dioceses led by bishops in mainland Gotzborg, while a vicar apostolic or exarch would hold responsibility over the entirety of each [[:Category:Territories of Gotzborg|territory]]. Caprivi's plans for the church were never realized, however, due to a break in his participation in the micronation.

On August 19, 2013, [[Hyderus Adrianus]] expressed an interest in reviving the Church of Gotzborg and took charge of the institution under the name Cardinal [[Piadoso Fransico Alberto Adrianus]]. Adrianus' plan for the church differed from that of Caprivi, insofar as he established the Church as a non-Christian polytheistic religion, though its organizational structure did reflect Christianity generally. That organizational system and the tenets implemented by Adrianus represented the identity of the Church as it would remain until it ceased activity in May 2014.

The Church was governed both by the Cardinal, as head of the church, and the Council of Justitia, which consisted of specially-appointed clergy. Its headquarters was situated in the Church of Gotzborg Complex in [[Lonenberg (city)|Lonenberg]].

The Church of Gotzborg had five ranks within its clergy. There was one cardinal who acted as head of the church and the Archbishop of [[Lonenberg (city)|Lonenberg]]. Below the cardinal were archbishops who held responsibility for a certain geographic area in which bishops operated local churches, staffed by priests who presented local sermons and rituals. The church also had an order of abbots who resided in abbeys.

Situated in Lonenberg, the complex consisted of Lonenberg Cathedral (depicted above, right) and other ancillary buildings. The Cathedral was commissioned by King Charles V.

== Tenets ==

The holy book, entitled the Book of Religiosity, was intended to be published in three chapters by Adrianus in order to fully define the Church of Gotzborg's tenets; however, the institution fell inactive before any actual drafting was undertaken.

While Gotzborg industry used a high volume of ore to support steel manufacturing, there was no local supplier. Recognizing that gap in the supply chain, Harris-Till began planning the founding of Mitsubiki Mining Company (Gotzborg) on January 14, 2007.

The company was meant as a stepping stone for Harris-Till into the wider Gotzborg economy. In announcing his intent to found the company, he suggested that if it proved successful, mining profits would be used to fund the creation of a shipping company that would compete with the [[Merchant Marine (Gotzborg)|Merchant Marine]], which had a defacto monopoly in Gotzborg for ocean-going transport.

== Operations ==

Mitsubiki Mining Company (Gotzborg), outside of its head office in [[Lonenberg (city)|Lonenberg]], operated solely in the [[Ansbach|Colony of Ansbach]]. The company applied for, and received, a mining licence for iron ore and coal worth 1,500.00 [[Gotzborg Thalers|Thalers]] from the colony's [[Port Augustus Economic Office]] on January 26, 2007. Operations were authorized on the northern slop of the Southern Ansbach Mountain Range. In the event that it discovered a new, unrelated, mineral resource during its operations, the company was given the option to apply for the requisite mining licence for an additional 1,000 Thalers.

The company also sought to purchase 150 acres of agricultural land for 300 Thalers near Port Augustus; however, the sale was never finalized. Land sold within Ansbach remained subject to expropriation by the Crown if deemed necessary, and Mitsubiki Mining did not wish to open itself to such risk.

WHEREAS the micronational world is commonly affected by the changing tides of human participation, attempted and successful coups, inactivity and conflicts;

WHEREAS We wish to protect and provide for the reputation and status of Our Royal Kingdom from the destruction and failure that many others usually experience in times of depressed and reduced activity;

WHEREAS Our Royal Kingdom, being of greatest importance to Us and Our history prior to the introduction of Gotzborg on the Internet;

LET IT BE KNOWN that We of Our especial grace, certain knowledge and mere motion do by these presents declare that Our Royal Kingdom do be placed into hiatus until such time as it is Our wish to return to the micronational world.

AND we do further direct that during this period of hiatus of Our Royal Kingdom that a [[Lord Protector and Ambassador Plenipotentiary]] be appointed by Ourselves to serve as guardian and representative of Our Kingdom tasked to protect the history, documentation;

Decrees are normally proclaimed for things such as appointments to the [[:category:Royal Government (Gotzborg)|Royal Government]] and [[Gotzborg Monarchy#The_Royal_Household|Royal Household]] posts, creating new Peers of the Realm, and bestowing honours and awards, among others. A '''Royal Decree''' is a rule of law that is created by [[Gotzborg Monarchy|His Royal Majesty, the King of Gotzborg]], according to certain procedures as laid out in the [[Constitution Act (Gotzborg)|Reichlau Constitution]]. Decrees are normally proclaimed for things such as appointments to the [[:category:Royal Government (Gotzborg)|Royal Government]] and [[Gotzborg Monarchy#The_Royal_Household|Royal Household]] posts, creating new Peers of the Realm, and bestowing honours and awards, among others. As laid out in the Constitution, decrees may also be used to implement law and regulations in certain circumstances. While not specifically rules of law, various non-legal announcements, such as notifications of state visits, may also be made through the use of Royal Decrees by [[His Royal Majesty's Office]].

WHEREAS the function of Our government should be entrusted to those persons with leadership and presence of mind to conduct the affairs of government;
