The June 2008 [[Microvision]] had a total of 9 entrants. Votes begun on June 28th and the results were announced on July second, it was hosted in Bobalania, who requested the competition take place on their boards [http://bobalania.proboards106.com/index.cgi?board=microvisionjune08]. The theme was 60s, as a result, a few nations such as [[Apiya]] did not enter in protest.

MASOM was an awards ceremony set up around the nations and people of the Micronational Cartography Society. It was created by Cairney and was based on the [[Scotannia|Scotannian]] forum. The awards were nominated an judged by three independent micronationalists; Cairney, Andreas the Wise and Swamp Candle. This system later became highly contested when the results were deemed corupt. When the results where posted on the MCS forum on the 21st February they're were much criticized. The award for 'Best Military' came under much scrutiny as the winners, Gralus, had just lost a war previous to their nomination.

The '''Kingdom of New Brittania''' or the '''New Brittanian Empire''' is a micronation founded on August 9th 2005. The current Monarch is [[Jeremy Hart|King Hart III]].

New Brittania is a secessionist micronation located in the UK claiming vast amounts of land in Lincolnshire, England. In addition to this the national also holds territory on MCS and GSO.

== Terminology ==

The country started off under the name of The Kingdom of Willow, flying a brown flag with a green cross. In November 2005 a communist revolution took place and King Jeremy was removed. After two weeks the King returned to the nation and removed the communists, to wide spread relief throughout The Kingdom of Willow. After this unpleasantness, the King wanted a new start so he renamed the nation The Kingdom of New Brittania and adopted the pre-1801 flag of the British union. After the death of King Jeremy I the nation spent a brief period under the name "The Kingdom of Númenor" however it has changed back since.

== History ==

In August 2005 [[Jeremy Hart|Jeremy Hart III]] chose to break away from the UK to develop a country of his own devising. This nation was originally called the Kingdom of Willow and the flag was brown with a green cross, since then the name has changed and the old British flag has been adopted. One relic from this period still survives however. The national currency, the FONS, which is equal exactly to ten British pounds, remains and grows stronger each month.

== Politics ==

The nation is led by [[Jeremy Hart|Jeremy Hart III]], a monarch who has a lot of power over the micronation. In his support is a parliament made up of competing parties and the House of Lords consisting of the Dukes and Lords of the nation. The ultimate prize for any political party is the Prime-Ministerial position which has to date been held by four different people.

Sadly, the first ever democratic Prime-Ministrational election was void due to a fraud leading to someone voting 13 times for the same person, but it didn't affect the final vote. Nathan Melton took the role of Primeminister several hours later than planned due to the mix up with the polls.

On Monday 6th March 2006, Nathan Melton announced that he was stepping down after just a month in the role of Prime-Minister of the nation, since then several other elections have taken place the most recent of which occured on Friday 1st June 2007.

New Brittania has in total 6 colonies, the colonies of the Kingdom of New Brittania are:

* Brittanic New Canton- The capital city of Brittanic New Canton is Alexandria and it can be found in the east of Micras. 
* The Crown Colony of Shalta- Shalta can be seen in north west Micras, the capital city of which is Hart. 
* Kesteven Islands- Port Impregnable is the main city of the Kesteven Islands which are located in eastern Giess. 
* Lynton Island (incorperating the Sandwich Islands) Lynton Island and the Sandwich Islands are in south Giess, the capital city of the island group is Lynton on Lynton Island. 
* [[Chi Nam|New South Vietnam]]- New Brittania's oldest and smallest island, formerly Chi Nam can be found in Eastern Micras, the largest city on the island is New South Vietnam. 
* St Helena (incorperating the St Edmund Isles)- The most southern New Brittanian colony on Giess, the capital city of Jamestown can be found on St Helena Island. 
* St Churchill and the Virgin Islands (incorperating St Kitts- A small grouping of coastal and river islands in central Micras, due to their small size the islands have no cities although numerous fortresses exist in the colony. 
* The United Christian States- Found in North West Micras,the United Christian states and its capital city of UCS are perhaps New Brittanias most disputed colony.
* Franklin and North Hertzagavina- In the centre of Northern Micras gives New Brittania influence in the region which reflects the nations increased interest.
*Witham- A medium sized colony neighbouring Brittanic New Canton on Micras, Witham is a rural colony containing a large airbase.
* Ithilen- This Principality is left-over from the Númenor period, it hosts the Royal house of Franklin and is home to Prince Vincent.
* Dol Amroth- The second Númenorean Principality is home to the house of Shalta and their leader Prince William.
* Koranga- this Crown Colony can be found in central northern Micras and is a popular tourist destination amoungst Brittanians.

==Geography==

New Brittania in real life is made up largely of farm land with a few villages containing the majority of the nations population. The climate is the same as that of the UK, cloudy with occasional spells of sunshine or rain. A series of small streams run through the country making up a system of water ways, the streams flow down the many hills of the nation. Despite being in an alledgedly flat county, this is not the case.

On GSO and MCS New Brittania is made up of a series of small islands having given up the mainland on MCS in May 2007 for various reasons. The empire also consists

==Armed forces==

In real life New Brittania has no armed forces due to a distinct lack of weaponry, however amoungst Micronations New Brittania concentrates mainly on sea power. The Royal New Brittanian Navy is thought by some to be the most formidable on Giess or Micras having completed a series of campaigns at sea during recwars with huge effect. The land forces are still large by micronational standards (150,000 men having been used in the Matbaic war of liberation) however the land based airforce is rarely used for anything other as home defence as many New Brittanian wars take place over-seas.

Jpb2009: small alterations

Jeremy Hart, more commonly known as King Jeremy I or Sahib Jahandar Khan founded the Kingdom of New Brittania on the 10th August [[2005]] after spending a few days as a citizen of the Kingdom of [[Lovely]]. He found Lovely to lack direction and so broke off to find his own way in the Micronational world.

[[New Brittania]] and its King took several months to establish itself after having trouble locating other nations, in October [[2005]] however Jeremy stumbled upon [[New Oscland]], who introduced him to many of the nations [[New Brittania]] considers as allies today.

Soon after this King Jeremy founded the Commonwealth of Micronations (CWOM) which was designed to act as a treaty organisation between New Brittania and her allies. However, within days a rift formed between CWOM and the [[CIS]] which resulted in the member nations of both organisations separating into two and several heated arguments took place over the weeks that followed.

Hart had formed a personal friendship with the president of [[Chi Nam,]] Hieu Chi Tuong, who was also a member of CWOM. This resulted in the foundation of [[New Brittania]] Broadcasting which still exists today, the first broadcast came in the form of NBBC Radio 1 which ran for 4 hours a day for a week before audience numbers dwindled. Technical difficulties soon meant that NBBC Radio One was forced off the air for several months before a Citizens Broadcast radio was acquired and the stations transmissions were resumed.

In early [[2006]] [[New Brittania]] was joined by a new colony in the form of its former ally [[Chi Nam]] which was renamed [[New South Vietnam]]. Jeremy became King of this new region and was until he died, the leader of a collection of colonies which make up the [[New Brittanian|New Brittania]] Empire.

In June [[2006]] King Jeremy began another nation in addition to [[New Brittania]], The [[United Christian States]], which was designed as a fake nation which was to join the [[CIS]] and spy on its members. This however went wrong when the [[CIS]] rejected UCS which as a consequence became an ally of another religious state, [[Matbaa]]. By becoming friendly with [[Matbaa]] (a [[CIS]] member) it was hoped that the [[CIS]] could be persuaded to let UCS join, which again didn't go to plan.

UCS was then left in the care of the [[New Brittanian|New Brittania]] secret service which observed [[Matbaa]] closely for several months before the [[Circum Raynor war]] broke out and the UCS project was bought to a close.

During the above said war Hart found himself in a recwar for the first time, and like many other of his micronational activities this didn't go to plan. [[New Brittania]] suffered heavy casualties while King Jeremy struggled to fight a war and revise for exams, both of which ended positively in the end when [[New Brittania]] found herself on the winning side after switching to [[The Grand Commonwealth]]'s side at the last minute.

After this King Jeremy continued to work on [[New Brittania]] which improved greatly as time went on and on the 10th of August [[2006]] [[New Brittania]] celebrated its first anniversary of independence. On Christmas day 2006 Jeremy made an attempt to leave micronations after being assassinated, however this attempt at leaving failed and after a few hours he returned as "The Ghost of King Jeremy" who could be found on various micronational forums in the early weeks of 2007. However even death didn't prevent Jeremy from being involved in [[New Brittania]] during this time which has become known as "The age of the two Princes" due to the instability of the government of the nation at this time. Pained by the lack of activity in the nation he had worked so hard to create Jeremy returned to Micronations full time, taking the New Brittanian throne as King Jeremy II whos reign continues to this day.

In addition to his work in New Brittania, Jeremy is also involved in [[The Grand Commonwealth]] under the name Sahib Jahandar Khan. After a time as delegate for [[Karnali]] Sahib became Khan of Nea Hestia and Alkhiva, a Khanate of the Kingdom of [[Babkha.]]
